Reports

During my travels, I received free accommodation for a night in exchange for writing a daily travel diary. This diary documented how I reached my next destination, the hosts who welcomed me, the food I was offered, and other experiences along the way. Just to get online, big smiles always work.

Sometimes small commercial just goes together in one shop. Pharmacy, restaurant and takeaway. - Do you want medicines with your noodles?

And from crowded streets, we suddenly drove through treelaned streets like this. Remarkable.

Luis dropped me off at the Department of Agriculture where my next hostess Renske Jacobs works.

After her work was finished at 5pm, I joined her on the bus home.

Renske lives in a commune, as an shared apartment is called here. But basically she lives in this cosy round hut in the back garden.

Vanessa, a.k. Mother of the house, prepares us dinner.

Joined by the rest of the house I had meat, Greek salad, peas, and sweet potatoes for dinner. I skipped the sweet potatoes, because I learned that I do not like everything... (Getting fussy probably...)

The rest of the house was very amused by this Flying Dutchman staying over.

At night the whole house went along to a firespinning practice in the park. Renske is a professional firespinner and together with the business Hybrid (which she started with her friends) they perform at gigs and events. Unfortunately it was to dark to get photos of the actual firespinning, but I guess playing football with fire is also interesting.
