At the start of the evening I join Karen and Alexandra on the way to the hospital.

This is where, over 16 years ago, Alexandra was born with only 28 weeks gestation and 550 grams. It made her the second smallest baby ever born in Australia.

Before entering the neonatal area for early-born babies: wash your hands!

Alexandra was visiting the doctors that once helped here when she was just the size of a hand. And they even remembered her!

Yes, this little baby is just a bit bigger than the average hand.
